| Chemical Properties | Orange powder. Water solubility is very good, its aqueous solution is golden yellow, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in other organic solvents. Aqueous solution with concentrated hydrochloric acid produces purple precipitate; with concentrated alkali produces golden orange precipitate. Magenta color in concentrated sulfuric acid, with greenish light and blue precipitate after dilution; purple solution in concentrated nitric acid. Insensitive to hard water.
